倉田保昭

Yasuaki Kurata (born March 20, 1946), also known as David Kurata, is a Japanese actor who specializes in action films. He is a successful martial artist holding dan ranks in karate (5th degree), judo (3rd degree), and aikido (2nd degree). He is perhaps best known for his extended fight against Jet Li in Fist of Legend and his villainous role in So Close.

He speaks Cantonese quite fluently. Kurata's hometown is Sakura-mura, Niihari District, Ibaraki (currently part of Tsukuba). After receiving stage arts training at Nihon University and the Toei Theatre School, he began working as an actor in the late 1960s. Kurata made his debut in Hong Kong in 1971 with Shaw Brothers Studio's kung-fu film Angry Guest. Since then, he has appeared in many other films of this genre and in television series.
