In this modern version of William Shakespeare's tragic love epic, Romeo and Juliet, adapted to the cinema by the genius Australian director Baz Luhrman, swords are replaced by weapons bearing sword names. In the film, which takes place in modern-day Florida, Romeo (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Juliet (Claire Danes) are the children of the city's two enemy families. Through a tragic coincidence, two young people fall in love with each other and try to find an escape in the middle of the family war.
