Altan Erkekli

Erkekli is a Turkish theatre, cinema and television actor. He completed his high school education at Kadıköy Maarif Koleji and Anadolu High School. During his high school years, Erkekli began to engage with theatre but decided to abandon it and become a civil engineering graduate due to the difficulties he encountered. However, influenced by the insistence of his English teacher at high school, he changed his decision and enrolled in the Department of Theatre at Ankara University Faculty of Fine Arts (DTCF) in 1975. During his studies, he appeared on stage in the lead role of the play "Kopermikli Yüzbaşı" prepared by faculty students, as the originally cast actor for the lead role could not appear. Following the premiere of the play, Rutkay Aziz approached him and said, "Welcome aboard the AST ship," thus marking the beginning of his professional acting career. After graduating, he worked as an instructor in the Acting Major of the DTCF Theatre Department and continued his acting career at AST. Between 1985 and 1989, Erkekli worked in the Children's and Youth Theatre section of State Theatres, before returning to AST in 1989. He provided the voice for the character Edi in Susam Sokağı.
