Biography
Annabelle Frances Wallis was born on September 5, 1984, in Oxford, England.
Wallis, the niece of Richard Harris, one of the legendary figures in cinema, spent much of her childhood and youth in Portugal, where she lived with her family.
Thanks to this international upbringing and cultural diversity, she can speak English fluently as well as Portuguese, French, and Spanish.
After attending Saint Dominic's International School in Lisbon, she followed her passion for acting, moved to London, and focused on building her career there.
She made an unusually remarkable debut in 2005 by appearing in the Bollywood film "Dil Jo Bhi Kahey.".
Her first significant breakthrough in the UK and American markets came with her portrayal of Jane Seymour in the third season of the historical drama series "The Tudors" (2009–2010).
This role demonstrated her talent for period dramas, her elegance, and her dramatic depth.
Although she took on small roles in productions such as "X-Men: First Class" (2011) and Madonna's directed "W.E.", it was the BBC's hit series "Peaky Blinders" (2013–2019) that propelled her to global television stardom. The character of Grace Burgess, a mysterious Irish bartender and secret agent, became a favorite among viewers thanks to her strong chemistry with Thomas Shelby, portrayed by Cillian Murphy. Wallis carried her television success into cinema, gaining recognition particularly in horror and thriller films. In 2014, she starred in the box-office record-breaking horror film "Annabelle," demonstrating her potential as the "Queen of Screams." She then began appearing in major Hollywood productions; in the 2017 film "The Mummy," she shared the lead role with Tom Cruise, bringing archaeologist Jenny Halsey to life. That same year, she also appeared in Guy Ritchie's directed "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword." Continuing to expand her acting range, Wallis proved her versatility across different genres with the 2018 comedy film "Tag."
Her role in the miniseries "The Loudest Voice" (2019) alongside Russell Crowe earned her critical acclaim. In 2021, she solidified her success in the horror genre by portraying Madison Mitchell in director James Wan's masterful film "Malignant." More recently, she has continued to sustain a versatile career through projects such as dark comedy-dramas like "Silent Night" (2021) and science fiction thrillers like "Warning" (2021). The actress, who maintains close ties with the fashion world, has also served as a brand ambassador for various luxury brands.
