Bill Skarsgård

Bill Istvan Günther Skarsgård was born on August 9, 1990, in Vällingby, Sweden.
Skarsgård is a member of one of the most renowned families in the film industry; he is the son of legendary actor Stellan Skarsgård and brother to actors Alexander and Gustaf Skarsgård.
Growing up in such a family enabled him to become familiar with acting at an early age, and he began his career as a child actor in Sweden.
His first major breakthrough came in 2010 with the film "Simple Simon", in which he portrayed Simon, a character with Asperger's syndrome.
His touching performance in this film earned him significant praise and played an important role in the movie being selected as Sweden's nominee for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
Following this success, Skarsgård turned his attention to international projects, taking his first significant step into Hollywood with the mysterious and dark character of Roman Godfrey in the Netflix series "Hemlock Grove," which aired between 2013 and 2015.
This role demonstrated his ability to portray complex and unsettling characters to an international audience.

However, the role that transformed Bill Skarsgård into a global superstar and etched his name in cinema history was Pennywise, the demonic clown he portrayed in the 2017 film "It," adapted from Stephen King's classic novel.
With his physical transformation, unsettling grin, unique vocal tone, and menacing energy that permeated every moment of the character, the Pennywise he created became one of the most iconic villains in modern horror cinema.
He solidified this remarkable achievement with the 2019 sequel "It Chapter Two."
Following Pennywise, Skarsgård continued to excel in dark and stylized roles.
In the 2023 film "John Wick: Chapter 4," he also demonstrated his prowess in the action genre by portraying Marquis de Gramont, an elegant yet ruthless primary antagonist.
The year 2024 marked another peak for him; he proved once again his courage to undertake demanding roles that required physical transformation by starring as Eric Draven in the reboot of the cult classic "The Crow" and as vampire Count Orlok in master director Robert Eggers' gothic horror film "Nosferatu."

Bill Skarsgård is regarded as one of the most exciting and talented actors of his generation, thanks to his unique charisma and fearless role choices.
