Charlie Heaton

Charlie Ross Heaton was born on 6 February 1994 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.
Raised by his mother in Bridlington, he moved to London at the age of 16.
Pursuing his passion for music, he joined various musical groups.
Initially, he toured as the drummer for noise-rock band Comanechi and recorded an album with them as a member.
He later became a member of psychedelic-pop group Half Loon.
While continuing his music career, he decided to try his luck in acting.
In 2015, he made his television debut in the British crime drama series "DCI Banks", followed by guest appearances in shows such as "Vera" and "Casualty".
His first significant film role came in 2016 with the psychological thriller "Shut In" (Inside), in which he played the bedridden son of the character portrayed by Naomi Watts.
That same year, he starred in the acclaimed independent drama "As You Are".
However, the role that propelled Heaton to international fame and marked a turning point in his career was Jonathan Byers in Netflix's global phenomenon "Stranger Things", which premiered in 2016.
In the series, he portrayed an introverted, sensitive, and photography-obsessed character.

Her character's attachment to her family and especially her relationship with Nancy Wheeler made her one of the show's key characters. Following the great success brought by "Stranger Things," Heaton focused on her film career. In 2017, she appeared in the Spanish thriller "Marrowbone" (Belkemiği). One of her most striking film roles was in the 2020 horror film "The New Mutants", which took place in the Marvel universe and had been delayed for a long time. In this film, she portrayed Cannonball, a character capable of flying at supersonic speeds. It was announced in 2021 that Heaton would portray Joseph Merrick in BBC's miniseries "The Elephant Man." Heaton is currently in a relationship with her co-star from "Stranger Things," Natalia Dyer, which began on the show set.
