Biography
Harris Dickinson was born on 24 June 1996 in Leytonstone, East London, England.
Although he developed an interest in cinema and theatre during his youth, Dickinson initially considered joining the Royal Marines before fully committing to acting after completing his training at RAW Academy in London.
In the early stages of his career, he acted while also writing and directing his own short films, thereby honing his skills behind the camera.
The first major turning point in Dickinson's career was Eliza Hittman's independent drama film "Beach Rats" (2017).
For his portrayal of a young man searching for his identity in this film, he received widespread critical acclaim, was nominated for Best Actor at the Independent Spirit Awards, and won the London Film Critics Circle Award.
This achievement opened doors to international projects.
In 2018, he further established himself in television by portraying kidnapped heir J. Paul Getty III in "Trust," a series produced by Danny Boyle.
The young actor made his transition from independent cinema to mainstream Hollywood productions with his role as Prince Phillip in Disney's "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil" (2019). He then showcased his success in action and period films with the character of Conrad Oxford in Matthew Vaughn's "The King's Man" (2021). The year 2022 proved to be a career peak for Dickinson, as his portrayal of model Carl in Ruben Östlund's satirical film "Triangle of Sadness," which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes Film Festival, elevated him to global recognition. That same year, he demonstrated his versatility by appearing in diverse genres with adaptations such as the bestseller-based "Where the Crawdads Sing" and "See How They Run." In 2023, the actor further solidified his place in independent cinema with his role as a father in Charlotte Regan's Sundance Award-winning film "Scrapper," and immediately followed it by portraying legendary wrestler David Von Erich in Sean Durkin's biographical sports drama "The Iron Claw."
The physical transformation he underwent for this role and the emotional depth he displayed were hailed as one of his finest performances. Dickinson continues to be among modern cinema's most sought-after talents, with recent projects including the erotic thriller "Babygirl" (2024), in which he shares leading roles with Nicole Kidman, and Steve McQueen's World War II drama "Blitz" (2024).
