Fishburne began his acting career as a child and first appeared on screen at the age of 10 in the soap opera *One Life to Live*.
However, he took his first step into cinema history by joining the cast of Francis Ford Coppola's legendary film *Apocalypse Now* (1979) at the age of 14, claiming to be older than he actually was.

He garnered attention with his portrayal of the wise father Furious Styles in John Singleton's cult classic *Boyz n the Hood* (1991) and his performance in *Deep Cover* (1992).
His greatest critical achievement came in 1993 with his role as rock 'n' roll icon Ike Turner in the film *Tina: What's Love Got to Do with It*, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.

He reprised his role in the film's sequels, "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions." Throughout his career, Fishburne demonstrated extraordinary productivity, starring in prestigious dramas such as Clint Eastwood's "Mystic River" (2003) and the popular television series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." In recent years, he has gained prominence through roles in high-budget film franchises. In the DC Extended Universe, he portrayed Perry White, the publishing director of the Daily Planet, in the 2013 film "Man of Steel." Additionally, he reunited with his co-star from "The Matrix," Keanu Reeves, in the "John Wick" franchise, where he received widespread acclaim for his role as Bowery King, the leader of the underworld.
In addition to his work in cinema and television, Fishburne, a master of the stage, won the Tony Award for Best Actor in 1992 for his performance in August Wilson's play "Two Trains Running."
