Biography
Marc Menchaca was born on October 10, 1975, in San Angelo, Texas.
Having studied English Language and Literature at Texas A&M University, Menchaca turned toward artistic training before pursuing his passion for acting.
He began his career in the early 2000s as a guest actor in various television series and made his first significant breakthrough with his portrayal of Mike "Gunny" Wynn in HBO's acclaimed miniseries *Generation Kill* (2008).
Menchaca's career extended beyond acting; in 2013, he served as both screenwriter and co-director of the independent drama film *This Is Where We Live*, which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival.
This project showcased his talents behind the camera.
However, it was Netflix's hit crime drama *Ozark* (2017–2022) that introduced him to a wide audience and established him as a sought-after face in the television industry.
In the first seasons of the series, Menchaca portrayed Russ Langmore, Ruth Langmore's uncle, earning critical acclaim for his masterful depiction of the character's internal conflicts and tragic story.
Following his success in "Ozark," he became an actor often preferred for intense, ominous, and antagonist roles. He delivered compelling performances in the "Black Mirror" episode "Arkangel" and the second season of "The Sinner" (2018). His portrayal of detective Jack Hoskins in HBO's adaptation of Stephen King's novel "The Outsider" (2020) further cemented his ability to embody dark and unsettling roles. Additionally, he brought characters to life as James Griffin in the popular sci-fi series "Manifest" (2019) and Lauder Wakefield in "Homeland" (2011–2012). In recent years, the actor has focused on film projects, appearing in horror film "Sick" (2022) and Gareth Edwards' science fiction film "The Creator" (2023). Menchaca married Lena Headey, a star of "Game of Thrones," at a ceremony held in Italy in 2022.
