Fatmagül, who married her rapist, is the subject of the story. Kerim and his four friends rape Fatmagül on a day when they are drunk. As a result, all of them are sent to prison. Among those involved are Erdoğan, Selim, and Vural, who are children of wealthy families. Mahmut is a blacksmith's apprentice, and Kerim is a bicycle repairman. According to the law, if one of them marries Fatmagül, they will all be released. Since Kerim is the only one among the five who has no one, it is decided that Kerim will marry Fatmagül. Thus, the others are also released from prison. However, Kerim will soon regret this marriage.

What's Wrong with Fatmagül, is a disturbing story of dark relationships in a dark corner. The film tells the story of a tale that turns between poverty and wealth, while questioning the impact of social poverty on people. After being raped, Fatmagül tries to find a way to save herself, but she is saved by marriage, which leads her into another form of oppression. The events reveal the helpless situation of the poor in society between poverty and wealth. This relationship, which takes place between the families of the rich and the apprentices, reflects the difficulties of real life. Everyone has their own path, but the rule of society causes everyone to be perceived as a single particle. The film deeply explores the inner worlds of each character in this structure. Kerim's regret is a concrete representation of the conflicts that dissolve along with the marriage. The camera angles always create a dark and mysterious atmosphere. Sometimes the houses, which seem like the nests of the rich, sometimes the streets filled with poverty. This harmony reflects the difficulties of a certain narrative. The film portrays the difficulties of social poverty, while also questioning internal conflicts.
