I have an objection

I Have an Objection offers, as its name suggests, an examination of conscience; Müslüm's life, bathed in stage lights, collide with the collapse of a friend lost in the shadows of the streets. The film builds dramatic tension by sharply contrasting the moments when the singer character weaves a mask of goodness with the donations he makes to society, with Selim Bey's fall into the gambling pit. While the cold color palette and tight shooting plans used by the director express the inner loneliness of the characters, the background music maintains a parallel rhythm with Müslüm's stage performances. Gülcan's appearance confronts the audience with an unexpected emotional dilemma. Müslüm's drift between two women turns into not only a romantic triangle, but also a crime drama where responsibility and passion collide. While the layered structure of the script confronts the audience with the moral choices of the characters, the tempo drops in some scenes relieve the tension. The performances are the most obvious strength in the film; While the actor playing Müslüm presents a realistic idol image with his charisma on stage, Gülcan's actor gains the audience's empathy with his subtle emotional nuances. However, the incomplete treatment of some side characters causes the story to lack complete integrity. While the film combines drama and crime elements, it manages to challenge the audience both emotionally and ethically.
