Kördükum stands out as a part of the romantic golden age of Turkish cinema in the mid-1980s. Osman F. Seden's directorial style offers the audience a narrative language that is both soft and sharp; The transitions between scenes are fluid, but from time to time the rhythm slows down. The musical background of the film is successful in terms of reflecting the pop culture of the period, but in some scenes the balance between music and dialogue is a bit lost. Orhan Gencebay and Gülşen Bubikoğlu add emotional depth to their characters. Gencebay's voice and Bubikoğlu's facial expressions reinforce the internal conflicts of the story. Fuat Özlüer and Erdoğan Tünaş's script captures the small dramatic moments of daily life and invites the audience to the inner world of the characters.
