Beter of the Servant

When he comes out of prison after a prison life of fifteen years, he knocks on the door of his old friend Ergun. Ergun plays the role of a guardman in the shadow of the pavilion works, and he makes Shahmuz (Shehmuz) a kind of false safe harbor for him to build a new life. The film gradually reveals the efforts of a man who stepped out of the prison walls and stepped into the harsh realities of the city streets; each scene makes the inner conflicts and vulnerability of Shahmuz (Shehmuz) more visible. Meeting Zeynep offers the audience both a romantic escape and a new danger as he turns the loneliness of Shehmuz into a love story. The bilateral world of the dancer reveals the two faces and conflict of interest; this increases the dramatic tension of the film. While the director manages to reflect the inner darkness of the characters outside with light and shadow plays, the interstage rhythm slows down from time to time and forces the audience to think. The most remarkable aspect of the script is that he conducts the theme of freedom after prison under social criticism. The presence of external threats, such as the former enemies of Şehmuz, and the boss of Zeynep, questions how possible it is for the individual to escape his past. Visual narrative, especially when he makes contrasts with the cold tones of the color palette in the pavilion scenes, strengthens the film's dark atmosphere, but some side characters are missing the depth of the film, creating a slight gap at some points of the story.
