Biography
Alfie Evan Allen was born on September 12, 1986, in Hammersmith, London, England.
Born into a family at the very heart of the performing arts world, Allen's father is actor Keith Allen, his mother is film producer Alison Owen, and his sister is the famous singer Lily Allen.
Although his sister wrote the song "Alfie" about him, which became part of popular culture, Alfie Allen carved out his own path with his talent and succeeded in becoming an international actor.
After studying at St John's College and Fine Arts College, he focused on his acting career.
He began his career with small roles in films such as "Elizabeth" (1998), produced by his mother, and "Cody Banks 2: Agent Wanted" (2004).
Later, he gained experience by appearing in prestigious period films alongside Keira Knightley, including "Atonement" (2007) and "The Other Boleyn Girl" (2008).
In 2008, stepping into the lead role of Daniel Radcliffe in the play "Equus" marked one of the significant steps that helped establish his acting talent seriously.
However, the project that transformed Alfie Allen into a global star was HBO's series "Game of Thrones" (2011–2019), which has become part of television history.
The character he portrayed, Theon Greyjoy, underwent perhaps one of the most complex and challenging transformations in the story over eight seasons.
His portrayal of Theon, evolving from an arrogant youth to a traitorous prince, then to a captive tortured under the name "Reek" (Carrion) who lost his identity, and finally to a hero paying penance, earned him widespread acclaim from critics.
This performance earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series at the 2019 Primetime Emmy Awards.
While the series continued, he also took on memorable roles in the film industry.
He notably gained attention for his role as Iosef Tarasov in the action classic "John Wick" (2014), starring Keanu Reeves.
His character, a spoiled mafia son who kills John Wick's dog and sets off the chain of events, served as the catalyst for the film and demonstrated Allen's success in portraying villainous characters.
Later, he showcased his comedic talent as Finkel, Sam Rockwell's loyal assistant, in Shane Black's "Predator" (2018) and Taika Waititi's Oscar-winning film "Jojo Rabbit" (2019). In recent years, Allen has focused on television projects, starring as Jock Lewes in the true-crime drama series "White House Farm" (2020) and in the BBC production "SAS: Rogue Heroes" (2022–present), which depicts the founding of the British Special Air Service (SAS) during World War II, successfully continuing his career.
