Biography
Chandler Carlton Riggs was born on June 27, 1999, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Riggs began his acting career at the age of four by stepping onto a theater stage; after appearing in local productions such as *The Wizard of Oz*, he gained his first cinematic experience with the 2009 film *Get Low*.
However, the role that transformed Riggs into a global star and formed the foundation of his career was Carl Grimes, which he portrayed on AMC's hit series *The Walking Dead* (2010–2018), joining the cast at age ten.
From the show's inception, Riggs played Carl, the son of main character Rick Grimes, growing visibly before the audience over eight seasons.
During this period, his character evolved from an innocent child into a hardened and experienced survivor within the brutal conditions of the post-apocalyptic world.
Riggs' performance in this demanding role earned him numerous nominations as well as three Saturn Awards.
Carl's shocking and unexpected death in the eighth season was regarded as one of the show's greatest deviations from its comic book source material, sparking significant debate among viewers.
This departure marked the end of Riggs' eight-year journey on "The Walking Dead," but it also brought him significant recognition and experience as a young actor. After leaving "The Walking Dead," Riggs continued his career by transitioning to adult roles. He appeared in recurring roles in ABC's drama series "A Million Little Things" (2019-2023), showcasing his versatility across different genres. Additionally, he starred in independent films such as "Inherit the Viper" (2019) and "Only" (2019). Beyond acting, Riggs is also actively involved in various aspects of the arts, working as an electronic music producer and DJ under the stage name "Eclipse."
