Biography

Colin Salmon was born on December 6, 1962, in Luton, Bedfordshire, England. Although he was born in the Bethnal Green district of London, his childhood and youth were spent in Luton. After graduating from Ashcroft High School, before pursuing acting, he followed his first passion: music. At the end of the 1970s and the beginning of the 1980s, he performed on stage as the drummer of a punk rock band called "Friction," and later formed a jazz quartet in which he played the trumpet. These early years immersed in art laid the foundations for his stage charisma and discipline. Salmon began his acting career in the early 1990s, achieving his first notable role in 1992 as Detective Constable Bob Oswalt in the acclaimed and award-winning British police drama "Prime Suspect 2." This role brought him recognition in England and opened the doors to the film industry. However, it was his portrayal of Charles Robinson, the intelligent and loyal Deputy Chief of Staff at MI6 in the James Bond series, that transformed Colin Salmon into an international star and became the most recognizable role of his career.

During his tenure as Bond, he appeared in front of audiences in *Tomorrow Never Dies* (1997), *The World Is Not Enough* (1999), and *Die Another Day* (2002), becoming one of the beloved faces of the franchise. Following his success in the Bond series, Salmon became a sought-after actor both in Hollywood and internationally. In another popular film series, *Resident Evil* (2002) and its sequel *Resident Evil: Retribution* (2012), he portrayed James "One" Shade, the leader of a commando unit. He also took on significant roles in high-budget productions such as *Alien vs. Predator* (2004). In the 2021 action film *Nobody*, he starred alongside Bob Odenkirk as "The Barber," and it was announced that he would appear in the film's sequel, *Nobody 2*. With a rich television career, Salmon played Walter Steele in DC Universe's popular series *Arrow* (2012–2014), General Coburn in *24: Live Another Day* (2014), and General Zod in Syfy's series about Superman's origins, *Krypton* (2018–2019).

He also appeared as a guest actor in many successful British productions such as "Doctor Who", "Merlin" and "Silent Witness". In 2023, he continued his presence on mainstream television by joining the cast of one of Britain's longest-running series, "EastEnders", portraying the character George Knight. Colin Salmon, known for his authoritative and charismatic roles in both film and television, continues to be among today's respected actors with his distinctive demeanor.
