Biography

Norman Mark Reedus was born on January 6, 1969, in Hollywood, Florida. After spending his youth in various countries such as Japan, England, and Spain, he settled in Los Angeles. Beginning his career as a model, Reedus worked for brands like Prada, D'urban, Levi's, and Lexus before entering the acting world after being discovered at a party. He started his acting career with small roles in the late 1990s and made his first significant breakthrough with Guillermo del Toro's film "Mimic" (1997). However, the role that turned him into a cult figure and introduced him to a wide fanbase was Murphy MacManus in Troy Duffy's "The Boondock Saints" (1999). Although the film achieved limited success upon release, it eventually became a cult classic and marked a turning point in Reedus' career. During this period, he also appeared in productions such as "Blade II" (2002), demonstrating his talent in action and thriller genres. However, the role that transformed Norman Reedus into a global star and defined his career was Daryl Dixon in AMC's hit series "The Walking Dead" (2010-2022).

In fact, this character, created specifically for Reedus following his audition performances and not originally part of the comic book series, quickly became one of the show's most beloved and iconic figures. Over eleven seasons, Reedus brought this character to life with great success, eventually starring in his own spin-off series, "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon" (2023–present). Beyond acting, Reedus is an active figure in various fields. Known for his passion for motorcycles, he hosts the travel and motorcycle program "Ride with Norman Reedus." Additionally, as a successful photographer, he has published a book titled "The Sun's Coming Up. Like A Big Bald Head" (2013), featuring photographs he took. In the world of video games, he made a significant impact by voicing the lead character Sam Porter Bridges in the legendary game "Death Stranding" (2019), directed by renowned game designer Hideo Kojima.
