Rafi Gavron

Raphael Pichey Gavron was born on 24 May 1989 in Hendon, London, England.
Growing up as the son of publisher Simon Gavron and author Martha Pichey, his grandfather was Robert Gavron, an English nobleman and philanthropist.
Having developed an interest in acting at a young age, Gavron quickly attracted industry attention through his natural talent despite never receiving formal acting training.
His entry into the film world came with acclaimed director Anthony Minghella's romantic crime drama "Breaking and Entering" (2006).
In this film, he portrayed the young thief Miro alongside Jude Law and Juliette Binoche, earning widespread critical praise for his performance.
With this debut and striking performance, he was nominated for Best Newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA), marking an ambitious start to his career.
Following this successful launch, the English actor turned toward Hollywood productions and also entered the television world by portraying the character Duro in the second season of HBO's prestigious historical series "Rome" (2007).

In 2008, he further established his international recognition by playing the lead vocalist Dev in the popular romantic comedy "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" alongside Michael Cera and Kat Dennings, and as Farid in the fantasy adventure film "Inkheart," starring Brendan Fraser, released the same year. In subsequent years, he continued to portray diverse characters across both cinema and television. On television screens, he took on recurring roles in cult action series "24" (2010), family dramas such as "Life Unexpected" (2010) and "Parenthood" (2011). In films, he demonstrated his success in character acting through projects of various genres, including the crime-action film "Snitch" (2013), starring Dwayne Johnson; "Tracers" (2015), where he shared leading roles with Taylor Lautner; and the independent drama "The Land" (2016). One of the most significant turning points in his career, and the role that introduced him to a global audience, was Bradley Cooper's Academy Award-winning musical drama "A Star Is Born" (2018), in which he shared leading roles with Lady Gaga.

The visionary yet cool-headed music manager Rez Gavron, portrayed by Lady Gaga in her portrayal of the character Ally, received widespread acclaim for this performance, which helped shape Ally's career. Immediately following this blockbuster box office and award success, he continued to appear in powerful projects from television's golden age, bringing Aarfy Aardvark to life in George Clooney's Hulu miniseries "Catch-22" (2019) and Ernie Nunzi in the critically acclaimed crime drama "Godfather of Harlem" (2019–2021). Following his performance in the espionage thriller "Ghosts of Beirut" (2023), Gavron joined the ambitious cast of the high-budget 2026 dystopian sci-fi action film "Mercy," starring alongside stars such as Chris Pratt, Rebecca Ferguson, Kali Reis, Kylie Rogers, and Chris Sullivan, thereby sustaining his steady ascent in Hollywood.
