Biography

Sophie Belinda Turner was born on February 21, 1996, in Northampton, England.
Spending her childhood in Warwickshire, Turner joined the Playbox Theatre Company at the age of three, beginning her acting career at a very young age.
While studying at Chesterton Community College, she continued to pursue her passion for theatre and eventually secured an opportunity to launch her professional career with a globally acclaimed project.
The most significant turning point in her career and the role that transformed her into an international star was portraying Sansa Stark in HBO's legendary fantasy series "Game of Thrones" (2011–2019).
Selected for this role at just 13 years old, she successfully portrayed the evolution of Lady Winter, transforming from an innocent young girl into a powerful and strategic leader of the North throughout the show's eight seasons.
This performance not only earned her a massive global fanbase but also led to her nomination for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series" at the 2019 Primetime Emmy Awards.

While continuing with "Game of Thrones," Turner also focused on her film career, experiencing her first leading role in a theatrical release with the thriller "Another Me" (2013). She then appeared in the action-comedy "Barely Lethal" (2015). However, the project that brought her most attention in the film industry was her entry into the Marvel universe. In the film "X-Men: Apocalypse" (2016), she portrayed the young Jean Grey, a mutant with telepathic powers, taking her first step into a major Hollywood franchise. She further elevated her performance by assuming the lead role in "X-Men: Dark Phoenix" (2019), a film centered on this character's story and one of the series' final installments. In addition to television and film projects, Sophie Turner also showcased her talents across various genres before returning to the screen with the crime drama miniseries "The Staircase" (2022). In the near future, she will star in the series "Joan" (2024), which tells the story of Joan Hannington, one of England's most famous jewel thieves, continuing her tradition of portraying strong female characters in her career.

Turner continues his career as one of the significant representatives of modern British acting, known both for his roles with dramatic depth and for his success in major productions.
