Biography

Aaron Perry Taylor-Johnson was born on June 13, 1990, in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England.
From his childhood years, Taylor-Johnson developed an interest in performing arts and received his training at the Jackie Palmer Stage School in drama, voice, jazz, and acrobatics.
He began his career with small roles in theatre productions and television series at a young age.
One of his first notable film roles came in "The Illusionist" (2006), in which he starred alongside Edward Norton.
His breakthrough to international recognition came through two distinct and striking roles.
In 2009, he portrayed young John Lennon in the biographical drama "Nowhere Boy," directed by his future wife Sam Taylor-Wood, earning widespread critical acclaim.
Immediately following this, in 2010, he gained a broad fanbase in popular culture and demonstrated his success in the action-comedy genre by playing the lead role of Dave Lizewski / Kick-Ass in the comic book adaptation "Kick-Ass."
In 2013, he returned to reprise this iconic role for the sequel, "Kick-Ass 2."

Throughout the 2010s, Taylor-Johnson demonstrated the versatility of her talent by taking on roles ranging from independent productions to big-budget box office hits. Following films in different genres such as "Savages" (2012) and "Anna Karenina" (2012), she returned to large-scale action cinema with "Godzilla" (2014). Her true global breakthrough came when she joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe; by portraying Pietro Maximoff / Quicksilver in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" (2015), she solidified her place in action cinema. She proved that she is not merely an action star, clearly demonstrated through her chilling performance as Ray Marcus in Tom Ford's 2016 psychological thriller "Nocturnal Animals." This demanding role earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor. In subsequent years, she appeared in ambitious box office projects such as Christopher Nolan's mind-bending film "Tenet" (2020) and the high-octane action film "Bullet Train" (2022), in which she starred alongside Brad Pitt.

Finally, the actor who starred in "The Fall Guy" (2024) is portraying the lead character in Sony's Marvel universe film "Kraven the Hunter." In his personal life, the actor married director Sam Taylor-Wood in 2012 and has been using the surname Taylor-Johnson with his wife since that date.
