Elliot Page

Elliot Page was born on February 21, 1987, in Halifax, Canada. His mother, Martha Philpotts, was a teacher, and his father, Dennis Page, was a graphic designer. After attending Halifax Grammar School and Queen Elizabeth High School, Page graduated from Shambhala College in 2005. Following high school graduation, he completed two years of training in the Interactive Program at Vaughan Road Academy. Beginning his acting career at age four, Page performed in numerous school plays during this early phase. His first appearance on camera came with the CBC television film *Pit Pony*, released in 1997. The second significant film in Page's career was *Hard Candy*, released in 2005, for which he won the Best Actor award from the Austin Film Critics Association. The film that introduced Page to the world and stands as the most important in his career is *Juno*, directed by Jason Reitman. Thanks to his acclaimed performance in the film, Page was nominated for Best Actress at over 20 award ceremonies, including the BAFTAs, the Academy Awards, and the Golden Globes. He won the Best Actress award at 13 organizations, among them the Austin, Chicago, Detroit, and Houston Film Critics Associations.

On December 1, 2020, Page announced via his social media account that he is a trans man and revealed that his new name is now Elliot Page.
