Biography
Wyatt Hawn Russell was born on July 10, 1986, in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Russell, the son of Hollywood legends Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, grew up at the heart of the film industry but turned to professional ice hockey during his youth.
After spending a long time as a goalkeeper and playing for various teams, he was forced to quit sports due to injuries and then followed in his family's footsteps by entering acting.
Although he took small roles in films such as "Soldier" (1998) during the early years of his career, his true acting journey began in the 2010s.
One of the first major productions that captured audiences' attention was his portrayal of Zook in the comedy film "22 Jump Street" (2014).
Continuing to prove himself in comedies and independent films, the successful actor demonstrated the breadth of his acting range through performances in Richard Linklater's "Everybody Wants Some!" (2016) and "Folk Hero & Funny Guy" (2016).
He sustained his rise in cinema with "Ingrid Goes West" (2017), which blends dark humor with tension, and the World War II-themed action-horror film "Overlord" (2018).
In the television world, he gained critical acclaim for his leading role in the phenomenon series "Black Mirror" episode "Playtest" (2016) and for his performance as Sean "Dud" Dudley in the comedy-drama "Lodge 49" (2018–2019), which garnered praise. However, the role that transformed Wyatt Russell into a global star and marked his biggest career leap was John Walker in "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" (2021), part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). With this complex, anti-heroic portrayal, he received widespread acclaim and further solidified his place among box-office hit action films by reprising the role in the 2025 film "Thunderbolts*" and the 2026 release "Avengers: Doomsday." In recent years, he continues to appear in high-profile projects across both television and cinema. He also proved his suitability for dark roles by portraying Dan Lafferty in the true-crime drama series "Under the Banner of Heaven" (2022). Simultaneously, he plays the younger version of Lee Shaw in the Apple TV+ science fiction series "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" (2023–present), alongside his father Kurt Russell.
With projects such as the horror film "Night Swim" (2024), the drama "Broke" (2025), and the eagerly anticipated sci-fi thriller "Disclosure Day" (2026) directed by Steven Spielberg, Russell continues to enrich his career. He remains one of Hollywood's most sought-after new-generation actors, leveraging his charisma and talent to advance his path.
