Onslaught (2026)

Adam Wingard's *Attack* is positioned as a sequel to his 2014 film *The Guest*, yet it fails to deliver its anticipated magical touch at nearly every level. The scenario of genetically modified super soldiers released in the desert, followed by an ensuing senseless massacre, plunges the audience into a repetition that feels more jarring than enchanting, falling short of the allure of classic action films. Given the parodic underpinnings of Dan Stevens' character, one might argue this choice undermines the seriousness of the action and horror genres, making it better suited for comedy. The film's overall flow draws attention for its similarity to the 1992 *Universal Soldier*, yet it lacks the charm of the stars from that era. Weak in character development and thematic consistency, the movie remains confined by the simplicity of its plot, failing to adequately sustain the tension atmosphere required by the genre.
