The narrative structure is shaped by parallel transitions between the past and present, which aids the audience in understanding Danny's backstory and transformation. The pacing begins intense and tense before shifting to a more balanced tempo to accommodate character development and the establishment of emotional context. Director Louis Leterrier strikes a balance between dramatic and action-focused scenes that align with the story's content. However, sufficient depth was not achieved regarding character development; particularly, Danny's transformation process transitions without gaining emotional resonance. In terms of genre usage, the work pushes the boundaries of action and crime genres to establish a dramatic action style. Thematically consistent, the story built upon human nature and the influence of possession seeks to convey not only a plot but also the internal transformations of the characters to the audience. Nevertheless, these themes are anchored in a general framework without thoroughly examining the relationship between Bart and Danny.
