Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021)

Resident Evil: Raccoon City, though a long-awaited venture striving to remain faithful to the game universe, lacks narrative depth. Director Johannes Roberts demonstrates his affection for the franchise in every detail, from character costumes to set designs; however, an excessively condensed plot and an undue number of characters disrupt the story's flow. This situation hinders the audience from forming emotional connections and weakens the logic behind the events' development. Nevertheless, the film succeeds in capturing attention through visual elements such as action sequences set in darkness and a gradual process of losing one's humanity.
